Hunter’s Hacks Series: Bermuda for Kids

Hi. This is Hunter again. Today, I bring you valuable hacks for enjoying island life as a kid. I was born and raised in Bermuda. And let me tell you: it’s the best place to live on earth!

There are so many things to do here, and everyone is so friendly. In this series of blog posts, I will share some of my favorite hacks for enjoying life on this beautiful island.

Hack#1 – What To Bring to Bermuda?

My dad always emphasizes our visiting relatives pack lightly and strategically to make the most of their trip and not have to worry about lugging around a bunch of stuff they don’t need. Here’s what I recommend packing for a trip to Bermuda:

  • A couple of bathing suits
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Comfortable shoes
  • A hat or sunglasses
  • Beach toys (if you have younger kids)
  • A camera or phone to take lots of pictures!

Hack #2 – How To Get Around Bermuda?

The best way to see Bermuda is by taking one of our local bus tours. My dad’s company, Bermudaful, offers the best tour experience on the island.

You’ll see all the major sights and attractions and learn about our culture and history from our expert tour guides. You can just sit back and relax while we do all the driving!

Hack #3 – Where To Eat in Bermuda?

There are many great places to eat in Bermuda that offer kid-friendly food! My favorites are the Ice Queen for ice cream, the Frog and Onion Pub for lunch or dinner, and the Bermuda Triangle Treats for yummy smoothies.

Hack # 4 – Go To The Beach As Much As Possible

Bermuda has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I love going to the beach with my mom and dad. We usually go on the weekends. And we always make sure to pack a picnic lunch so we can stay all day. My favorite beach is Horseshoe Bay. It has the prettiest pink sand.

Hack # 5 – Ensuring Your Kid’s Safety While They Play On The Beach

One of the best things about living on an island is that beaches are everywhere! And, as much as we love playing in the sand and swimming in the water, staying safe is important. Here are a few tips for keeping your kids safe while they play on the beach:

  • Make sure they’re wearing sunscreen and reapply it often, especially if they’re swimming
  • Teach them to swim in areas where there are lifeguards on duty
  • Don’t let them go into the water alone
  • Keep an eye on them at all times

Hack # 6 – Kids Activities On Bermuda Island

Even though Bermuda is a small island, there’s so much to do! Here are some of my favorite activities:

Visit the beaches – as I mentioned before, there are beaches everywhere, and they’re all beautiful!

Check out the Crystal Caves – these caves are filled with sparkling crystals and are cool to see.

Explore St. George’s – this is the oldest town in Bermuda, and it’s really fun to walk around and look at all the old buildings.

Visit the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo – this is a great place to learn about the animals on our island.

Hack # 7 – Try As Many Different Types Of Fish As You Can

Fish is a big part of Bermudian culture. And there are so many different types to try. My favorite is the Bermuda Rockfish. It’s a white fish that’s usually baked with lemon and butter. Yum!

But I also like to try new things. So, I’ve also had yellowtail snapper, triggerfish, and conch.

Conch is a type of shellfish that’s popular in Bermuda. It’s usually served in soup or stew. And it’s delicious.

A few months ago, I went fishing with my dad, and we were fortunate enough to catch a couple of rockfish. We were so excited! We took them home, and my mom cooked them for us. It was such a special meal.

Hack # 8 – Take Advantage Of The Free Activities

There are so many free things to do in Bermuda. You can walk on one of the many beautiful trails, visit a museum, or visit the park. One of my favorite free activities is visiting the botanical gardens. They’re so pretty, and seeing the different flowers is always fun.

Conclusion

Living on an island is the best! There’s so much to do and explore. And Bermuda is the perfect place for kids!

With its beautiful beaches, friendly people, and rich culture, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
