Discover St. George’s: A Glimpse into Bermuda’s Past
St. George’s is famous for being Bermuda’s first English settlement, so this quaint and charming town offers a glimpse into the island’s colonial history.
As you walk through narrow alleys and along cobbled streets, you’ll be transported to another era. This includes the old ducking stool and stocks, forms of colonial-era punishment!
Discover historic landmarks, hidden courtyards, and the unique atmosphere that earned St. George’s a spot on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Just some of the notable landmarks you can take in here include King’s Square, Tucker House Museum, St Peter’s Church, and the remarkable Unfinished Church.

Watch the Sunrise at Gates Bay: A Magical Start to Your Day
For early risers, witnessing the sunrise at Gates Bay is a moment of pure magic.
As the sun’s golden rays paint the sky with hues of pink and orange, you’ll feel a deep connection to Bermuda’s natural beauty.
It’s a serene experience that will stay with you long after you leave our shores.
Gates Bay is in St George’s and is where the first English explorers landed in Bermuda, so this free experience is laced with history too.

As you ascend the spiral staircase, the anticipation builds! And once you reach the top, the panoramic vista will take your breath away.

Walk or Cycle Along The Bermuda Railway Trail
At one time, Bermuda used to have a railway… Now it has The Bermuda Railway Trail!
This trail is Bermuda’s best cycling path, but it’s also reserved for walkers, so it’s a hub of activity.
The trail is 18 miles long and non-contiguous. There’s also no official Railway Trail map, but you can find help for route planning from staff at the Hamilton Visitor Services Centre and the Royal Naval Dockyard.
The Railway Trail consists of seven sections, all of which have their own unique character.
While some hug the coastline and pass over oceanside bridges, others meander through shady forests.
A journey along the Bermuda Railway Trail is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in picturesque landscapes and experience the island’s history.

Visit Bermuda’s World-Famous Pink Beaches
Bermuda’s pink sand beaches are waiting for you to explore their splendor. And here’s a local tip — try to visit one at sunset. When the light refracts, the sand takes on an even more vivid pink hue.
Horseshoe Bay Beach, Elbow Beach, and Warwick Long Bay Beach are the most popular pink sand beaches in Bermuda, so we recommend starting with one of these.
Whether you visit one or all three, relaxing under the sun, swimming in the crystal-clear waters, and feeling the soft pink sands beneath your toes is one of life’s small pleasures.
We included walking across pink sand beaches at sunset in our list of 10 unique things to do in Bermuda.

Try a Rum Swizzle: Sip on Bermuda’s Signature Drink
No visit to Bermuda is complete without trying a Rum Swizzle, our country’s signature cocktail.
Head to a local tavern and enjoy this refreshing concoction of rum, fruit juices, and spices.
We could talk about rum swizzles all day — but we already have! Read our previous blog Bermuda’s Rum Swizzle: A National Treasure to find out more about this iconic drink.
